Blarg

So I've been fairly sick this past weekish so not along going on with the nerd stuff.  Through the sickness I have managed to knock out a bit of work to stay with my 365 day challenge for Warhammer.

I hope to get access to a better camera to post pictures of my test model for both the peasant and knight errant.

Also the wife will be out of town next week so hopefully I'll be able to get some games in while she is away.  I am going to experiment with the Battle Chronicler
 ( www.battlechronicler.com/ ).
My hopes are to start out with the slideshow then work my way up to doing a youtube style report.

Turn 4 - Pregames

This round I should be getting in two battles.  The one that counts will be against the same demon opponent from Rd 3. My second will be against Warriors of Chaos.  The first write up will be for the Warriors since it is against the same banner that I used in Rd 3 so I wrapped up post battle and scout report into one.

"Hold children of Bretonnia.  Have faith that the Lady watches over you!" Lady Rouquin shouted above the clash of battle. Around her the men at arms were dying by the droves to the demons of chaos and their courage was starting to waiver. Most were cut down by the gruesome hellforged blades of khornes foot soldiers while the lord of change thrashed about as best it could. Each clumsy strike of the demon lord sending men flying in every direction. The Ladys Blessing deflected many of the blows but there is only so much that can be done. The men were dying, all Lady Rouquin needed was them to hold for a precious few more seconds.

So immersed in the thrill of slaughter the demon spawn did not notice Lord Aldred and escort had moved into position and had already begun their charge.  The swiftness of the Bretonnian steeds was such that by the time the bloodletters were aware of their plight the lances were already striking home.  Such was the force of the knights impart that not even demonic resistance could protect them from righteous fury.  With his support gone the Lord of Change looked to flee to the skies. "Don't let the demon flee!" Lady Rouquin pointed towards the demon as he unfurled his wings.  Seeing the closest thing to fear in a demons eyes and emboldened by the support of their betters the men at arms surged at the demon lord in an unstoppable wave.  More men died as the demon lashed out in its dark tongue engulfing men in iridescent fire but it was already too late.  Large ropes were brought up and blessed by the prophetess before binding the demon to the ground.

The temporary bindings in place large chains were then brought forth to further secure the cargo.  Thrice blessed by both damsels ensured that the great magics of the Tzeentch demon could not be used to free itself.

The battle was won.  All the demons were banished backed to their realm and they now had the demon hosts leader in chains.  His fate yet to be decided by the capricious Lady Rouquin as none dared to argue with a Prophetess for the Lady of the Lake.

Lord Allard looked around the battlefield calculating the Butchers Bill for the day.  The capture of the land and mine was a great success and he looked forward to hearing of the riches they will pull from the earth.

"My lord, I wish not to damper your victory but our scouts report a Norsca force moving south" Sir Grotte reported as he eyed the remains of the battle. "South? I Norse were supposed to be good with directions. Did they ask for passage?" Lord Allard already was running why the Norse would be as so bold to enter the kingdom.  "No my lord, it looks to be a war host."

"Then lets not be rude and keep them waiting shall we.  Call up the reserves, we march at dawn"  Lord Allard started the ride back to camp.  Allard hoped that this was simply a misunderstanding, but one can not be certain with the Norse.

Round 3 annnnnnnnnd Fight!

Things with the new puppy have absorbed a good bit more time that anticipated.  So the pre/post game write up will be all done here.

This round I was to play against a demon player.  We were doing a modified battle for the pass and the board had a river running long ways down the middle.

His forces were approximately

Lord of Change
2 X Tzeentch Heralds with Death
Large block of horrors
5 Screamers
2 groups of Flamers
Soul Grinder
Block of bloodletters.

My force was
Lord
w/Sword of Swift Slaying, Shield, Cuirass of Fortune, Luckstone, Gauntlet of the Duel, Virtue of Heroism

Prophetess
w/ Lvl 4, Prayer Icon of Quenelles, Dragonbane Gem (Heavens)

Paladin
w/ Bsb, Sword of Might, Gromril Great Helm

Paladin
w/ Shield, Morning Star, Dragonhelm, Ruby Goblet, Virtue of Empathy

12 Knights of the Realm
w/ Full Command, Standard of Discipline

12 Knights of the Realm
w/ Full Command, Banner of Swiftness

2 X 49 Men at Arms
w/ Full Command

2 X 10 Bowmen
w/ Braziers, Musician

10 Skirmishing Bowmen
w/ Braziers, Musician

3 Pegasus Knights
w/ Musician

2 X Field Trebuchet

So,  I wanted to test out the Paladin on foot in this game but the main reason I brought him was the Ruby Goblet which did a whole lot of nothing this game.  It makes the best you can be wounded on a 3+ after the first wound suffered.  The down side being it only works against non-magic sources.

In the campaign we were fighting over one of his mines for retaliation for taking one of my mines due to an event he rolled.

I managed to all but table him in this game.  I did get lucky with him not rolling great on the winds of magic and my ability to close very quickly on his forces.  Being cavalry with static combat resolution really helped out against the soul grinder since my lord wasn't able to heroic killing blow it.

I need to get my butt in gear and start getting some battle reports up, but I am still debating on what format I wish to use.

We still need to roll the D6 to see if I capture his mine along with my spoils and his defeat roll. So hopefully I'll get some nifty upgrades here shortly.
