For those familiar with the minimalism concept it would seem
like I would be trying to mix oil and water with minimalist gaming. The bare bones idea of minimalism is to keep
only things that bring value to your life, whether that be because you want
them (books, KoW army, ect) or need them ( kitchen utensils, refrigerator,
ect.). So while on paper there shouldn’t be an issue with doing both the gaming
hobby has a sneaky way of getting you to accumulate stuff that doesn’t
necessarily bring value, ie random bits/models for games you don’t play.
To that end, I’ve begun a purge of gaming stuff that has
been sitting around collecting dust. The
idea being I’ll use the funds to get units painted for games and armies I do
use. So out goes that drawer of 40k
Space Marine and Imperial Guard bits and in comes painted Hunters of the Wild
units. This process will be rinsed and repeated until I hopefully have more
painted armies than not and a much cleaner living space/garage.
Here's to progress!
